Blue
I've been neglecting my blog, but I've been really busy lately. Probably the biggest thing was last week I went and saw The Blue Man Group in Springfield with my friend Carlene. I have been wanting to see The Blue Man Group for years and this was the first time they have played around here I know of. I remember watching them years and years ago when Direct TV showed one of their concerts.
Blue Man Group has changed a lot since they first started out. When I first saw them years ago they just played music. Their show in Springfield was a little music, but more comedy and audience interaction. We were center stage in the third row, the two rows in front of us were the splash zone where people had ponchos and a plastic blanket to hold up. We still had a jell-o mold fly past our heads just a couple seats away. At the end of the show they had giant inflatable balls fly out into the audience we got to throw around the crowd. Then they had giant cannons that shot toilet paper and silly string out into the crowd which lasted until we were completely covered. A lot of little kids were carrying big armloads of the toilet paper out as souvinirs.
Went to the movies last week and saw the movie Chronicle. It was ok, but not really that great. Three teens are at a party, find a weird crystal and get telekinetic powers. I just really didn't like the way they took the movie and that kind of ruined it for me.
The next movie I plan on seeing is Act of Valor in Springfield. Bass Pro sent me an email saying I could get two free tickets to it for being a rewards club member. So I went to claim the tickets and they were for two different cities way off in some place like Pennsylvania. I'll just probably go sometime next week in Springfield. I like going to the earliest show early in the morning when you've just about got the whole theatre to yourself. It's like my getaway lately to destract me from all the things going on and just slow things down for about an hour.
Today has been kind of slow. Had to go to the shooting range this morning and I did really good. I never really saw myself as being good on the quick draw, but did really well today and for a little while I had the fastest time of my group. Tonight just watched the new episode of The Big Bang Theory and went to the VF mall for a second to get a pair of cargo pants for hiking this summer.
