Smokey Mountains

Last week was really busy! I was in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and North Carolina. Probably my favorite part was driving through the Appalachian Mountains, Smokey Mountains and Blue Ridge Mountains. The most beautiful area had to be the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina.
It has been a while since I've taken a trip far enough that the people sound different when they speak. I first noticed when I stopped in a McDonald's and the girl took my order with an Eastern Tennessee accent.
I noticed a lot of Bojangles restaurants which we don't have here in Missouri. I also noticed a lot of Gander Mountain stores which we don't have here either. Saw so many interesting things like a building shaped like an acoustic guitar, a tiny roadside church, The Grand Ole Opry building in Nashville, Bristol Motor Speedway, a gigantic bowie knife in Bowie, Texas... just to name a few. Then of course some of my old favorites like The Gateway Arch in St. Louis and the Old Chain of Rocks bridge.
The biggest draw back is it kills me not to be able to stop more to explore the places and take more pictures.
