Something to Occupy My Mind

Just thought I would update this to occupy my mind for a bit. Yellow (the male stray cat) was gone for a couple days. He showed up tonight and we put food out for him, as soon as he ate a little he quickly disappeared. Very strange because he always hangs around. We have a water bowl that won't freeze, a heated bed for them to go in, we feed them regularly. It would be more understandable in nicer weather, but the weather has been horrible lately. Not sure where he could be finding a better place to eat, drink and stay. So I could understand him disappearing during the days, but you would think he would come back for those basic things when he needed them regularly. Still no sign of Miss Kitty. I could see someone taking Yellow in their house. He's a good cat and friendly. Miss Kitty is so wild I have a hard time getting close enough to catch her and she's a lot more used to me than she would be a stranger. Its' a mystery!
This morning I went to Springfield with my mom to pick my stepdad Chuck up. We made a quick stop in Marshfield and then drove around Strafford and the surrounding countryside to kill some time until he was ready.
After we picked Chuck up we went to eat at Cheddar's. As usual the parking lot was packed and I circled the building about 4 times looking for a spot. Eventually had to park halfway between Cheddar's and Golden Corral and walk. Once inside we had a 15-20 minute wait for a table. The food was really good and we had a really good server! We had hardly touched our drinks and she already brought us a refill! As far as service goes that is one of the biggest things with me. I hate eating and it makes you thirsty, but you've already finished your drink and you are waiting and waiting for a refill and your food is just sitting there because you don't want to eat anymore because you're thirsty and you know it will just make it worse. She was smart to know as busy as they were she was stretched thin and planned ahead.
Other than eating at Cheddar's we got gas and groceries at Sam's Club and the little Wal-mart next door. On the way home we stopped at the food truck "Long Calling" because I really wanted to try it on the recommendation of a friend. I thought the food truck was the double decker London bus, but that is just a dining area where people can go to eat, the food truck is parked next to it. It wasn't one of those food trucks you are like "Do I want to eat here?". No it was nice, pretty, looked new, you could tell they really had a lot of pride in their business. The food was really good and a fair price. I had an apple pasty and it was excellent! I tried the imported soda, they had about 8 flavors. The one I had was fermented dandelions, it wasn't horrible but not great either. It tasted like dandelions! The sodas are pretty expensive, but they are unique to the area and have to be imported so it is to be expected they cost more than a Dr. Pepper. They also had several candy bars imported. I didn't try one of those, maybe next time.
The wind has been howling outside here for the last few hours. I heard the high tomorrow is going to be 40, but is going to start raining and turn cold quickly. The rain is going to turn into ice and snow, the last I heard between Saturday night and Sunday where I live could get 6-12" of snow. Someone also said one day next week the high is only supposed to be 3 degrees! That is pretty bad for around here, but I know a lot of places have it a lot worse! Right now the snow really doesn't effect me, so I love it! I like the cold, I would rather is be freezing than 110! I can always put on more clothes and cover up with a blanket. You can only take off so many layers!
