Wednesday
As usual even though now it is technically Thursday since I'm writing this way after midnight, when I refer to today I'm talking about Wednesday.
It was the second day in a row of going to Springfield with mom. We went Tuesday to get groceries and ate at Colton's. It's usually where we eat in Springfield.... good food, lots of food, cheap. This time sucked though! Horrible service and horrible food! We normally leave a five dollar tip, which is a lot for us since we aren't wealthy people. I know people really believe in those percentage of the bill tips, but $5 is probably about spot on for the percentage, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. This time the service was so bad we only tipped $2 and that was mostly because we felt bad about not leaving a tip at all. Our waitress took our order, brought us our drinks and buns. Someone else brought our food to us. We wanted our hamburger cooked well done, they were medium. They gave my mom the wrong cheese on her hamburger and put onion tanglers on it which didn't come on the burger an she didn't ask for. Not the end of the world and we didn't say anything because it wasn't that big of a deal. I wasn't very hungry so I ate my french fries, a couple buns and took my hamburger home to eat, my mom ate half her hamburger and took the rest home with her. When I heated my hamburger up later it was horrible! My mom said hers had been that way too. I've heated up their hamburgers before and they were never that way, it was disgusting! There special right now is any hamburger on the menu and fries for $6.00, I'm thinking they got some really low quality meat or something for the special or a new cook that doesn't know what he is doing! But after a few bites I couldn't eat anymore and gave it to the dog. Our waitress never came back by to refill or drinks or see if we wanted more buns, she didn't show back up until it was time to bring the check.
Today we went to Cheddar's. Good food, but they are expensive for me! But my mom really wanted to eat there! I had shrimp and french fires.
I hadn't planned on going to Springfield again today, because I've got so much to do. But mom wanted to get out of the house and I needed to get a few things down there. Went to Nathanael Greene Park so my mom could walk a little bit. Stopped at Hobby Lobby so I could get my stuff I needed there.
At Hobby Lobby I browsed their wedding merchandise, but didn't see anything that would really work for me. My main goal was to get a picture frame for my poster to display which I found. I knew Wal-mart sold generic poster frames with a thin black border for about $20, but I thought Hobby Lobby might have some prettier ones. I found a really nice frame made out of barn wood for $30 that I think will look really good. I also bought a smaller wedding frame to display another picture in at the wedding show.
Got home and found out my niece and nephew had just been in a car wreck and was in the hospital. No broken bones, just a little banged up, I'm sure they will be feeling it for a few days! I know how much hospitals suck, it can be boring waiting and scary when you are young, so I went up there and hung out with them till they got discharged.
After that it was time to pick up the picture I had sent to Walgreens to develop so I swung by and picked that up. I felt weird just developing one picture, but that was all I needed for the small frame I got. I still haven't got the poster in the mail yet, but it should be here soon.
Hadn't realized, but it's been years since I've had any pictures actually developed. Everything is digital now. If I was super rich instead of putting framed pictures on the wall I think I would just have giant poster sized digital picture frames that would show a slideshow of photos.
