Birthday Blues
I'm sick and tired! Parents woke me up to see if I wanted to go do something with them for my birthday. At first I was like no, but then since I was awake might as well. So we went to Downstream Casino just outside of Joplin right on the Missouri / Oklahoma border.
We usually eat the buffet there when we go. I've never been a huge fan of the food, I would describe it as mediocre taste and quality. But the low price and the fact drinks were included made it an attractive offer. Since we started going I noticed a steady decline in the quality and this time they had raised the prices. Fortunately they had a special going on for September so we were paying about the same. They've taken a lot of items off the buffet and added a stir fry section. I am not a big fan of stir fry and they expect you to tip the guy preparing it for you. It's like look I'm paying for the buffet, I have to tip the server and now they just added one more person holding their hand out for a tip. Like I said the food is mediocre at best and on top of that a lot of it are items I don't like to begin with. Today it made us all sick, I got it the worst. I won't be eating there ever again!
I had no luck gambling today either. I usually leave with a little more money than I came in with. I only lost $3.25 though. I'm not really into gambling, my mom and Chuck like to play the penny machines. I prefer the roulette table and only bet when the law of probability is in my favor. $20 was my max to gamble with today. I can't believe how much people drop in Casinos! I saw one guy playing two $10 per bet slot machines at the same time and it's not that uncommon of a site. I just thought I wish I had that kind of money to spare and if I did a slot machine is not where I would be putting it!
On the way home we had to stop in Springfield to get gas. Mom got a grape whip at the Pineapple Whip on Glenstone and I got a pizza at Papa John's near by. I wanted pizza instead of birthday cake, I'm not much of a cake person. I like cake, but one small piece once in a great while is all.
I'm exhausted, feeling better but still not good. Dozed off in the van a couple times between Joplin and Springfield I was so tired. Normally I drive, but because I was so tired I had Chuck drive today.
