Restaurants and Tv
Went to Springfield a couple times this week and tried out a couple of new places to eat. 5 Guys Burgers was one of them. They have a very small menu... hamburgers, dogs, fries and sandwiches. The hamburgers cost about $5-6 and if you want bacon it's $1 more. Other than bacon you can pick the toppings you want to add for free. Drinks have free refills and there are bins of free peanuts in the store to snack on while you wait for your food. The burgers are great, but I didn't really like their french fries. I think this is the first place I've ever said I don't like their fries, I'm not picky on fries. The salted are too salty, the Cajun seasoning is better, but still not great. It must be the way they prepare them or the potatoes they use. They cut the fries in the store, they store the bags of potatoes in the area where you dine to show them off. They certainly do give you plenty of fries! The fries come in a cup, they fill the cup and then dump about 3 times that many in the bag. This isn't just like something an employee did, it's like their thing to do this. The way the guy talked if you eat them all they will give you more. So if you try the fries you might as well just order a small, because it's like getting a large. Now if you ordered to go a large is about the size of a large cup at McDonald's and if they hold true to filling the bag with three times as much as they put in the cup you'd walk out of there with a bag of fries! I think that would be EPIC!.... if only I liked their fries.
Today I tried the Cheddar's in Springfield today for the first time. The menu prices are average for a restaurant and they have a nice selection. I had a combination platter of chicken tenders and shrimp with a side of fries and corn. The food was excellent and our server name was Clyde, he was one of the best servers I've ever had at a restaurant. The atmosphere was really nice, very upscale. They have a really neat fan inside, it's like a big pole across the ceiling with giant paddles attached to it and it rotates around slowly. I'm not a big fan of onion rings, but if you are I'd recommend them there. We saw a lot of people ordering them as an appetizer and for $3.99 it's not a bad price. The onion rings are huge and they are stacked about 8 inches high on a plate! We couldn't believe how big the serving was!
Watched Dancing With The Stars tonight. I've caught a few bits and pieces of episodes from other seasons, but this is the first season I've actually watched. Emma Slater looked beautiful tonight in her Native American outfit. I hated to see Bill Nye go, yeah he isn't the greatest dancer, but he's awesome. So I was voting for him like crazy. He needed to go tonight, with his leg injury he was done. My favorite couple is Corbin Bleau and Karina Smirnov, they are who I hope win. My second place is tied between Christina Milian and Amber Riley. I'd probably have to give Amber Riley the edge, I like her dancing! Who I don't like is Jack Osborne and Snookie. I'm not a fan of either one of those and I think Jack is cheating by having his mom on there, her celeb status gets him votes and the show ratings. Nothing against Valerie Harper, but she needs to go just because of her health. I think it's awesome she's doing what she's doing, but physically I think it's taking a toll on her. I don't think she wants to drop out, but I think if she was voted off she would probably be a little relieved. So that is pretty much why I think she needs to go physically she's not going to make it and I think it would be better to be voted out than have to drop out. That being said I think the show is rigged and I don't know how much votes count. Didn't they say in week 1 Bill Nye got more votes than anyone from the audience and then week 2 he is voted out? I don't know if I believe it, I don't think it's coincidence he injured his leg and can physically no longer dance. If they voted someone else off and then he had to drop out this week also they would be down 2 dancers in one week. They would either have to have one episode where no one votes and the judges scores don't matter or cut out one episode from the series. If they cut an episode that would cost the show and the network would have to find something to fill the spot. So I don't think it was coincidence Bill Nye got voted off the same episode he would have to drop out. Yeah, he danced this episode, but he did The Robot. You can't do The Robot every episode, it's to hard to find dances to do when one leg is shot.
