Owl Prowl - Springfield Conservation Nature Center
The Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) also known as the Tiger Owl. Full grown owls range in length from 18-27 inches and have a wingspan of 40-60.5 inches. Female great horned owls grow to be larger than males.
Great Horned Owls don't have "horns" and they aren't their ears, simply tufts of feathers.
Owls cannot move their eyes, but most turn their head in order to look around. Owls can move their neck 270 degrees to look around!
