Getting Bloggy With It
Sitting here watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and thought I would update my Blog. Lots of respect for Will Smith! I saw Wild Wild West on tv this week and the song was playing and it made me miss his old music. He really has a lot of talent! He's got good music, great tv show and a lot of good movies. Plus he's respectable, can't say that about a lot of celebrities out there. I'd list him as being one of my favorite actors.
This week has been pretty boring for me.... work, sleep, work. The high gas prices are really taking a toll on my pocket book. I filled up the tank today and it was $70.00 and that lasts me three tips to work and back. OUCH!
People have been driving like idiots this week on the roads. I was on my way to work this week and a car was merging onto the interstate. So I slowed down to let them out in front of me, but they couldn't figure out that their car had a gas pedal. So their were about seven car lengths behind me and then three cars and the car merging still wouldn't speed up and merged over cutting those cars off and causing them to hit their breaks. Then when they had finally merged they found the gas pedal and floored it well above the speed limit to catch up to me. They had their window down so I figure they yelled some nice things at me, I caught the dirty look they gave me though. Really? Now you find the gas pedal? I'm nice and let you merge and all you have to do is use the gas pedal just a little bit, then you almost cause an accident because you are still to stupid to accelerate and then you get mad at me when I was being nice and letting you merge.
I had yesterday "off work" as they count it. I got home from work a little after 7:00 a.m. and went to take a shower and their was just a little bit of warm water. I went out to the water heater and made an effort to light the pilot light. I was so tired though I didn't stay awake long enough to see if the water heated up and went to bed. Pretty much slept all day and I was out like a light! It was great sleeping with the storms outside, not that I was really aware of them as out of it as I was.
When I woke up there was still no hot water, so that sucked! Made several more attempts to get the pilot to light and it wouldn't. Since I had slept all day and have had been working overnight shifts, I've been up all night. Shaved with cold water which wasn't to bad and washed my hair with cold water which was really cold! I just pretended I was back in the 1800s washing my hair in a creek. Makes you appreciate our modern conveniences.
Made a service call on the water heater this morning and they got it to working.... at least for now. But we will probably have to end up getting it replaced soon.
I had to go to Wal-mart this morning to get some groceries and I don't have a lot of nice things to say about the place. The people you see in the store are horrible, I passed a couple girls who could be on posters for meth. It is really a shame what our society is becoming!
The customer service in the store is terrible too! First thing I went to the sporting goods department and they actually had a few boxes of ammo which I bought. The girl at the counter accidentally rang up an extra box and neither of us caught it until after I paid. No big deal, accidents happen just had to go up to the service counter to get it taken off. So I go up to the counter and they couldn't get a manager to come up and turn the key on the register so they can refund the money. So I was there for a while and finally they caught one walking by and I got that fixed.
I get my groceries and go up to the front to check out. I've got ice cream melting and picked up some food from the deli that's getting cold. They have two registers open, the express lane with 10 people in it and a regular checkout with two people both with their carts piled full. So I pull up in line......
The cashier is going at a snails pace! I'm thinking it's great Wal-mart hires a lot of people like this who couldn't cut it at a lot of other types of jobs, but hire two or three of them! Then I don't know what happened, but the lady had to run all the way to the back of the store to get some juice. So the line that was hardly moving, comes to a screeching halt. More people are getting in line, more people are getting in line. I turn around and their are at least 5 people waiting in line behind me. It's back up all the way to the clothing and curving around. Cashier doesn't care, she just keeps going along at a snails pace and the people at the back of the line are getting sick of it. They start stopping employees walking by and telling them to get a manager to open more lines and it's getting pretty ugly. So they finally opened up a couple more lines temporarily. This is why I prefer to shop online! If only the groceries on Amazon weren't so expensive I would order on there all the time!
It's all part of Wal-mart's marketing strategy though. Cut costs, keep people waiting in line so they buy the candy, magazines and junk by the registers. You'll notice they always seem to put the slowest cashier in the express lane too.
I can't think of very much else to blog about at the moment. I'm waiting for the revealing of the new Xbox to come on at noon. Getting tired, but debating about going to see the new Star Trek movie later if I can stay awake.
