Iron Man 3
Didn't get very much sleep last night, I was attacked my Mothra. I hear something fluttering ping against the metal shade of my lamp, turn on the light and nothing is there. Turn the light back off then I hear something behind the blinds, turn on the light nothing there. Turn the light back off, drifting off the sleep and ATTACK THE EAR! So I shoot out of bed, flip the light on and this moth is attacking me like an angry bee. Landing on my back, dive bombing me from every direction with evil in it's little heart. Then it just disappeared, I looked all over and it had just vanished. Finally went back to sleep and it never reappeared, it may be laying in wait for me tonight when I go to bed.
I went to see Iron Man 3 and it was a good movie, but not as good as the first two. I know it made a ton of money at the theater, but I think that was a result of anticipation after The Avengers and the first two Iron Man movies. The first two movies were directed by Happy (Iron Man's body guard in the movies), but this one has a new director. Happy is still in the movies playing the body guard role and as an executive producer, just not directing this one.
This new director has a thing where all his movies have a Christmas theme or take place at Christmas. Get over it dude! It's the first big release of SUMMER, the Christmas thing would go over better if it was released in the fall. Most of the Christmas stuff felt out of place and felt like it was forced into the movie which didn't really have anything to do with Christmas. The exploding Christmas ornaments were just cheesy.
They have completely changed Tony Stark and the Iron Man suits. Tony Stark has lost his coolness. He had it in The Avengers during the whole alien invasion, but now suddenly you say alien and he has a panic attack? Certainly not the Tony Stark we knew in the other movies. Once again this was not a spoiler, because they don't really have any effect on the movie, they were just kind of thrown in there. Which is how most of the movie felt, a lot of stuff was just thrown in and wasn't really explained well enough or things just didn't fit together well enough for a smooth movie like we saw with the others. There were lots of big holes in the story too, like the whole thing with the Vice President.
The Iron Man suits went the same way as Tony Stark.... falling apart. These aren't the Iron Man suits we saw in the other movies. These are pieces of junk which 95% of their time malfunction, almost every scene the suit malfunctions in some way. Not to mention they are no longer the strong suits we saw get shot out of the air by a tank, crash land, blasted with machine guns, then shot up by the machine guns of an F-22 jet, after being shot by a missile and Iron Man walks away with hardly a scratch. These new suits get destroyed if a bad guy sneezes on them. I'm pretty sure Tony could have got some better Iron Man suits in the toy section at Wal-Mart.
I can't say to much here without spoiling the movie, but I wasn't impressed by the bad guys and I didn't like how they ended it.
Overall it was a good movie, but they could and should have done better. My suggestion for Iron Man 4, get a different director!
While I waited to watch Iron Man they showed the trailer for the new Thor movie. It didn't grab me, it just seemed like a jumbled mess with Thor in the middle.
They also showed the trailer for the new Wolverine movie, which looked pretty good. Not sure about the story though, could have done a little more to grab my attention as being a movie I have to see! Marvel needs to get some new people to promote their stuff and stop trying to change what's working, if it ain't broke don't fix it!
