Springfield with my niece.

I took my niece to Springfield this weekend and we ate at Zio's Italian Kitchen. It has become one of my favorite restaurants in Springfield. It's really fancy inside and the food isn't very expensive at all. Their pizza is about $10, cooked in a fire oven, enough to feed to people and one of the best pizza's I've ever eaten!
After that we went to Battlefield Mall because my niece wanted to go to the Lolli and Pops candy store. I think it is where Mr. Bulky's candy store was for years. It was really nice inside, lots of candy and a lot of unusual stuff from other countries. Two things made me really not like it though. The employees were really annoying, which I'm sure isn't their fault they are forced to be. All you need is a "hi, welcome to ____ store, is there anything I can help you with?". But it was like every couple minutes, I must have been asked five or six times while I was looking. Makes you feel like they think you are a shoplifter. The other thing I didn't like was the prices!!!! $2.00 for one box of candy cigarettes that anywhere else would sell for about $.50 Everything was sky high!!! I bought a couple soda, a Lion candy bar from Europe and these things called a White Rabbit which ended up being these disgusting white Tootsie Roll looking things from China that had no flavor and were hard as rocks. Just that little bit of stuff was almost $20 and I got a discount on the soda because my niece bought two also and they had a 4 for $10 thing going on.
We then went to a makeup store, Yay! lol And walked over to Best Buy just to look around. They have refrigerators now with screens you can draw on, listen to music, basically like a built in tablet. I might get one when I win that $400 million Powerball this week.
Then we went down town and the square is getting worse. The police closed one homeless camp near there and are closing another one soon so I guess the homeless are moving to the square. Usually they don't move into the square until it starts getting dark, but they were all over the place. Went around a corner and almost got knocked over by a one legged homeless guy in a wheel chair chugging on a bottle of Jack Daniels being pushed rather quickly by another homeless guy. Then we passed someone who was halfway in between a woman and a man, but hadn't really made a commitment to being either one. Then I saw another one down and alley way that looked like he was smoking crack or meth.
We went in a couple clothing stores and then stopped by a Gelato shop. It's in the ice cream family. I think it's Italian. It was my first time having it, I had peanut butter flavor and whiskey cream. Whiskey cream was the better of the two. It was good, but I think I like ice cream and custard just a little better.
