Trouble Sleeping
Having trouble sleeping again, so I thought I would turn on Married With Children for background noise and write in my blog.
I noticed tonight two friends had disappeared from Facebook. I hadn't seen any posts from them in a while and looked and they were gone. It wasn't just that I got unfriended, but they deleted their entire accounts. One of them has a habit of doing this, probably about the third time it's happened. They aren't close friends, more like acquaintances. I just think it is a bit inconsiderate! At least give people some advanced notice, like "Hey this is going on in my life. So I won't be on Facebook for a while and will be deleting my account next week". Something so people know you haven't died.
It's hard to find good friends on Facebook. I have so many people who I have blocked from their posts showing up on my wall because they never post anything original. All they do is post "repost this status if", never anything personal or about their lives.... so what's even the point? I wouldn't even mind as much if it was something other than spam.
I guess it bugs me too because I've been trying to make some new friends. I've sent out a lot of friend requests lately and not a single response. It isn't easy to meet new people! So many people around here just want to drink, do drugs, or surround themselves with drama. Most of the people on my Facebook list are either people I went to school with, relatives, or have worked with in the past. That's about the only way you usually meet people. When you are out doing stuff you usually have such a brief social interaction it's difficult to become "friends". Not leaving the house very much lately makes it all that much harder! It also underlines the need to find a girlfriend, which isn't easy. Or I should say finding a girlfriend is easy, finding a girl worth making your girlfriend isn't.
We had a cold front move in today and it's snowing outside. I decided not to go hiking on the 1st and wait till it snowed to get some winter pictures. I may put that off for a while though due to the weather. We are only supposed to get 2 inches of snow, but I heard 25mph wind and it could get -20F with the windchill.
Miss Kitty and Yellow have disappeared, not sure if anything happened to them. They usually disappear during the day, but both usually show up about the time it gets dark and want food. Neither one turned up tonight. Miss Kitty has been staying around the house less and less. I last saw her about 2:00 a.m. on the 1st. She was sleeping in her box, I looked out about 3-4a.m. again and she was gone. Yellow was still there though sleeping in his box. We usually feed them first thing in the morning and when we went to put out food this morning he was already gone.
It is possible Yellow is in someone's house. I think someone claims him, but doesn't really take care of him. Every so often he will disappear for a very short period of time and show up again and it looks like someone has brushed his hair.
I always worry about one of them getting hit by a car, but I can't see both of them getting hit at the same time. If they don't show back up I suspect someone may have trapped them. My mom said one of the neighbors hates cats and has been known to trap them before.
I've looked out for them several times tonight and they've never showed up. There were no tracks in the snow so I didn't miss them.
Maybe it's the weather, but my shoulder has been killing me all day. I could really go for a neck and shoulder massage, that would be heaven right now.
