Winter Storm
Both cats showed up today! And they stuck around the house and are sleeping in their boxes. Miss Kitty didn't seem to hungry when she showed back up, so maybe someone else was taking care of them.
Currently I'm sitting here eating some pizza bites and watching Revenge of The Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise. Great movie, it's been a while since I have seen it.
There is a big winter storm starting outside. I just stuck my head out the door and it was sleeting. We are supposed to get 6-10" of snow, high winds and blizzard like conditions. They said it could snow up to 2" in an hour and it's supposed to be a dry snow and blow around a lot. The cold is the worst of it, -6F tonight with a wind chill of up to -36F.
Spent most of the evening just chatting with some friend and helping one work through some relationship troubles. It is so weird everyone comes to me for relationship advice, probably even weirder I'm so good at it. It really helped to get my own head back in order, almost like hitting the reset button.
What I really hate is the gray area between being single and being in a relationship. It is complete chaos and confusion, it is hell. Everybody has their own rules and expectations and they are all different. As a guy you don't know what to do because every girl is different. Some really don't want anything to do with you, some just want to be friends, some want you to prove you aren't like all the rest, some want to play hard to get and be chased, etc. etc. So you have no clue what you should do! I actually saw some girls arguing about it this month. One said when a girl says she's not interested and to leave her alone, LEAVER HER ALONE! Some girls agreed with her, others disagreed and one even said her husband asked her out for a month continuously before she said yes.
Then you have a huge double standard of interested and not interested. What I mean by that if a guy were to carve a girl's name into his arm with a knife, plaster his whole wall with her pictures and show up at her house at 3:00 a.m. and this girl likes him then everything he just did was sweet. Now if a guy says "Hi, I think you are really beautiful and I would like to get to know you better." and the girl is not interested then he is a creeper and she tells everyone so.
I don't think girls realize how hard it is for a guy to work up the courage to talk to them. Which is why we say and do dumb things. Socially all the responsibility is placed on guys, so the pressure is all on us!
Advice for the ladies, break the social barriers. If you like a guy don't be afraid to make a move! Don't wait on him, he may like you too and just not have worked up the nerve. Also guys need obvious! Women make us extremely dumb! So we often miss hints, so if we aren't getting them don't over think it, we may need something a bit more obvious.
Just in general don't over think things. When it comes to relationships we tend to over think things and most of it is just all in our own heads. Relationships should be so much simpler! Yeah that will probably never happen? But wouldn't it be nice?
It would nice to skip to this is the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with. I guess though, isn't that the point of any relationship? When you are in a relationship you are kind of saying this is the person I'm going to spend the rest of my life with given they don't screw it up. I guess not to some, but I'm not someone who just dates someone to date someone. I guess that is why I hate the grey area so much, I'm not good at winning someone over, but once I've got them I'm pretty good at not screwing it up.
