Columbia
Got up really early this morning to drive my parents to Columbia, Missouri. After getting the stuff done we had to do up there we went to the Bass Pro Shop up there. It was decorated for Christmas and really neat inside. Not nearly as big as the one in Springfield of course, but they had a lot of cool stuff I hadn't seen in Springfield. They had a remote control rat which I thought the cats would have entirely too much fun chasing. A slinky wiener dog which was cute and several other neat things. The only thing we bought though was a small package of salt water taffy and a cast iron corn bread pan that makes corn bread in the shape of ears of corn.
They had a lot of Ducky Dynasty stuff, those guys will put their face on anything! Not that I blame them milk it for all it worth while it lasts. Some of the stuff I just think is silly! Like a Si's tea cup Christmas Tree ornament and some of their heads as Christmas Tree Ornaments and things like that. I like the show, but I can't think of any show I like that much!
After Bass Pro we went to eat at Golden Corral. The Golden Corral in Columbia is a lot nicer than the one in Springfield! The restaurant was nicer, the food was better, the layout was better and the selection was better too. I tried a couple new types of chicken, something asian and then their style of bourbon chicken. This is pretty amazing for me since I'm such a picky eater! I also tried one of their new fountains, the vanilla one. They have had the chocolate for a while, but they just added vanilla and caramel. I would have tried the caramel, but the things they offered to dip just didn't see like they were things that would go with caramel. They had chicken tenders, which I had never seen in Springfield. They ended up being really amazing! They had some kind of seasoning on them which is what did it.
Then we went to Sam's Club down there. I've been there before and it's a completely different layout than the ones in Springfield. They have a lot of the same things as the ones in Springfield, but also a few things which are different so it's worth checking out.
I'm laying here and Modern Family is on. Ed O'Neil was great in Married With Children, but I just can't get into this show. So I just flipped it on Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
Came home and Hello Kitty keeps disappearing for hours at a time tonight. The weather is really nasty out with lots of wind and rain, so I'm not sure where she is going or why she is leaving the back porch. The weather has been bi-polar lately. It went from cold to back up to almost 70 today. It's rained most of the morning and then the sun came out and now it's raining again. Kitty was acting a bit skittish, so maybe the weather has something to do with it. She was around for a couple hours tonight and I gave them some treats and played with her and Yellow for a while. Usually I pet Yellow and attempt to pet her and take a string out for her to play with. Yellow started playing with the string tonight, which was a sight! He's not fast and it was something to see him try to scoop it up with those massive paws of his and bite it. He had fun though, he kind of reminds me of an old grandpa. But it was kind of nice because this was probably the first time in his hard old life he has ever had someone play with him like that and chase a string.
