Xbox One
I guess the big news today is I got an Xbox One. I bought it planning on turning around and selling it for a nice profit, but decided to keep it. So mom and Chuck reimbursed me the money to make it my early Christmas present.
I found out Game Stop was having their event at 6:00pm instead of midnight like most places. I found this out from their website and figured my chances would be a lot better there than trying to get one at Wal-mart or Best Buy. I got there a little after 4:00 and I was the 6th person in line. It was still cutting it close because I think they only had 8. They did it like a pre-order where you get a number assigned, pay for your Xbox and bring your receipt back at midnight and pick it up.
Unfortunately I didn't get a Day One console, but that's not to big of a deal. The only difference between the regular and day one is it has a little engraving on the side of the box and on the controller, the packaging (which you'll end up in the garbage in most cases) is a different color and you unlock a day one achievement. I actually like the regular control better without the engraving, it would have been cooler if they would have gave it a unique paint job.
I could care a less about achievements! I just play to have fun. I'm not going to go out of my way and waste time for them.
I went to Wal-mart after picking up the Xbox and bought a couple games. Rise: Son of Rome and Foreza 5, both of those are day one editions. I have no idea what is special about that other than it says it on the case, probably get a different paint job on one car or something. They were the same price day one or not, so might as well get the day one ya know. Wal-mart was $10 cheaper on their games so I was more thrilled to have saved $20.
I got a free Xbox One t-shirt for waiting in line, it's a size to small for me. But maybe I can wear it if I ever lose some weight and get back in shape again.
Going out tonight was pretty miserable. It's misting rain, windy and cold! If it's going to rain I would like to have some thunder and lightning. If it is going to be cold like this then I would like a little snow.
