Ha Ha Tonka
Today was a beautiful day! Still a bit nippy, but walking around outside in bluejeans and a t-shirt felt find as long as I didn't stand in the wind.
I went hiking at Ha Ha Tonka for a while this morning and took a few pictures. There was still some ice on the bluffs and the water between The Island and Spring Trail was still frozen.
Hiking on the boardwalk of the Spring Trail I spotted a small metallic gold star laying on the trail. Then another and another, there were dozens of them. For the heck of it I followed them, I was going that way any how, but unfortunately they didn't lead to anything.
Also while hiking someone recognized me from my photography. That is always pretty cool!
After Ha Ha Tonka I drove around in the country for a couple hours. There were a couple conservation areas and a river access I wanted to take a look at. It was a really enjoyable drive, listening to music and enjoying the scenery.
Then just as I was heading home one of my windows broke. This is the third one!! Something inside the door breaks and the window goes off the track and won't stay up. Jeep really should have put out a recall on them. I mean this is the 3rd one! One more to go and they will all have done it! Apparently this is a pretty common thing with the Jeep Liberty's. But since it doesn't effect your safety, they don't care to recall them. I certainly could have lived without having to pay to get it fixed right now though!
I was planning on going hiking in Springfield tomorrow, but because I will be getting the window fixed I won't get a chance too. I think tomorrow is going to be the last nice day and then rain. You have to be really careful hiking right now as it is, the ground is still very muddy from all the snow melting.
Been doing my best to fight off the heart break as it creeps in today. Losing someone you consider your best friend is hard, even more when you liked them beyond a friend. I still believe it was the right thing, when someone pretty much says and shows they don't care about you and you can't trust that person you are better off without them...... still it doesn't make it easy. I feel like there is a whole where that person was and I hope I meet another awesome person soon to become close friends with to fill in that hole.
I got a haircut yesterday to aide me in my search for a job. While I was sitting and waiting for my turn a lady came in with her two granddaughters to get their hair cut. They were just a few years old, I'm not good guessing kids age, maybe 3 or 4. They were just so stinkin cute! It really made me wish I had kids. I don't really like babies, but once they get old enough you can start getting them interested in cool stuff that is when they are so much fun. It would be so awesome to have kids to teach how to play Xbox, get them interested in hiking and photography. Teach them about nature and wildlife, travel, etc. I would find all the really good cartoons for them to watch from when I was a kid, not this new crap. Things like Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Chip N'Dale Rescue Rangers, Tailspin.
Tonight I figured out why I am having such bad luck on one the other dating website. The first one was because just anyone can have a profile. You have to have a profile to browse, so people set them up just to look around. But if you aren't a member you can't send or receive messages. The other one I tried is free, but it has a gift option. So you are expected to pay and send the girl a gift to get her attention. You know how many people would be in that just for the free gifts? It's not just the difficulty in getting one to reply, it's the lack of people to write to in the first place that are halfway decent. I have been lucky to find 2 or 3 girls I'm really interested in on each site.
